Mission:  To help individuals and families in the Blue Hill region understand and take care of their health, link up with community resources, and make use of regional, state and national information and programs.  The web site development group includes representatives from the community, the library, Healthy Peninsula, the medical profession, and the Center for Health Policy, Planning and Research University of New England.

Vision:  We envision this site as being a place where anyone in the community with health concerns can go for information or local contacts.  People without computer skills or access will be able to get help and access at the library.  Although the web site focuses on chronic illnesses, we are including broader information and links about health, including - health maintenance, exercise, nutrition, home care, mental health, substance abuse, hospice care, getting help in managing care for a loved one, finances, local health related groups and providers (including complimentary health practitioners), and local events.
